The French club announced on Tuesday 09/11 a partnership with startup Socios.com, based in Malta and developer of blockchain technology. The reason for this partnership is the creation of a team cryptocurrency, which aims to encourage it’s fans worldwide.

The news is that from 2019 the PSG will issue its own currency token, giving fans access to exclusive offers, such as meetings with players or participation in certain games.

In addition to the benefits, PSG will allow token fans to decide on less strategic matters related to the team, such as team options or opponents in friendly matches, summer tours, colors and uniform logo.

Paris Saint-Germain is taking advantage of the growth of the crypto-coins market and believes that token creation through blockchain technology will have a major impact on the club’s overall business strategy and it’s relationship with fans.

This PSG start has encouraged other European clubs to embrace the idea of ​​blockchain and crypto-coins.
