Vitalik Buterin Co-founder of Ethereun’s second largest cryptomeda recently spoke for the first time about its most anticipated upgrade to Ethereum 2.0 that is on the Serenity project during the Ethereum Devcon 4 developer conference in Prague. According to him, the project involves several features that the team has been talking about for years to develop.

Buterin said that over the years during the research and construction of the project, many new features were combined and now they are brought together. The PoS-Proof of Stake Casper protocol that will be used by the platform for the upgrade will provide other protocol enhancements that make up the Serenity project.

Developers believe that Serenity will make Ethereum’s energy-efficiency and scalability potential much higher and could increase a thousand times compared to its current statistics.

Buterin also added that before the release, developers will make some final adjustments. These include the Stability Protocol specifications and the test networks between clients, this network integrates at least two implementations of Ethereum 2.0.
